MoneyWhizz Launches New Pensions Calculator to End the Guesswork

MoneyWhizz, the financial education service, has launched a new pensions planning calculator that does something most tools don’t: it turns tomorrow’s pension value into today’s money.

Thanks to built-in actuarial features, users don’t just track their pension’s growth over time — they can see what that future pot is actually worth in current terms. For anyone who’s ever wondered “am I saving enough?”, this calculator finally gives a straight answer.

The tool factors in employer contributions, personal contributions, AVCs, risk profile and expected fund growth — while automatically accounting for tax relief along the way. Users choose their own time horizon and watch the numbers build in real time.

Crucially, the calculator also lets users stress-test their savings against inflation. Adjust the rate, and instantly see how rising prices erode real buying power — turning an abstract economic concept into a concrete number people can plan around.

“What we’re looking to do is educate users on how pensions actually operate — how they grow, and how inflation affects their real future value,” said Frank Conway, Founder of MoneyWhizz.

That’s the calculator’s real strength: it lets people work out, right now, exactly how much they need to be saving to maintain their standard of living in retirement.

“We want to give people real clarity on one simple question — is what I’m saving into my pension actually enough?” Conway said.

The calculator is available free of charge to employers who take part in MoneyWhizz’s financial wellbeing events across Ireland.
